Mental Health America of Spartanburg County and the 2021 Educational Series present for January… “How Best to Support Children and Families with ADHD” by moderator Rev. Christi Brown and panel: Dr. Mary Ladd, Emme Smith, Callie Berline and Christie Rogers-Larke.

This group of experts will give background information on ADHD as well as speak about the best methods and resources from their respective fields to help support children with ADHD and their families. This presentation will be informative and enlightening to the general public, and it will also be especially helpful to parents and caregivers of children with ADHD, teachers, counselors and those in the medical field. Each panelist will present for 5-8 minutes, and there will be time for Q&A at the end.

Rev. Christi O. Brown… “As a parent of an ADHD child, I am continually pursuing the best ways to both help my child and family thrive in life.”

Dr. Mary Ladd… “I love taking care of kids with ADHD and working with their families. I love watching them grow and change, it brings me so much joy.”

Emme Smith… “As a mother of two children with ADHD, a former special ed teacher, and a former school counselor, I have the unique vantage point from every seat at the table. My passion around this topic is fueled by experience.”

Callie Berline… “I’ve worked in schools as a special education teacher for 9 years. For the past 3 at Jesse Boyd, I’ve provided specialized instruction in a pull-out setting.”

Christie Rogers-Larke… “Diagnosed with ADHD in college, my initial interest was to help me learn better ways to manage my own symptoms. When I became a professional counselor 25 years ago, this became my clinical focus.”
