Overall Purpose
By the end of this one-hour workshop, participants will understand and be better prepared to dispel myths about eating disorders. Participants will learn diagnostic information, etiology, assessment tools, and interview questions to assist with making a diagnosis and getting the client to an appropriate level of care.

Meet Our Expert Presenter
Elisha Contner Wilkins, MS, LMFT, CEDS-C
Specialist Consultant. Elisha has approximately 25 years of experience in behavioral health working with children, adolescents, adults and families. She has focused most of her career on working exclusively with eating disorders and has held various clinical and leadership positions at all levels of care. She has been instrumental in launching eating disorder programs in Florida and Virginia. She has specialized training in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Family-Based Treatment, and mindfulness. She has provided supervision and training for those pursuing state licensure in addition to certification with the International Association of Eating Disorders Professionals (iaedp). She founded and served as the inaugural President of the Richmond iaedp Chapter, served on the iaedp national Board as a Chapter Representative in 2021, and has volunteered with the Eating Disorders Coalition (EDC) to support advocacy efforts. She also serves on the Board of Trustees for Elk Hill, an organization that provides specialized education, community-based services and residential treatment programs for youth in Virginia. Additionally, she has presented at local and national conferences.
Elisha is passionate about ensuring that clients have access to care and at the most appropriate level of care and believes that full recovery is possible. She also enjoys educating and coaching family members and loved ones, as well as supervising and mentoring the next generation of eating disorders professionals.
